It’s March! It’s (basically) spring! It’s almost my 26th birthday! Whoop whoop! I love this time of year – the sun starts to make a more regular appearance, trees begin to bloom again and I can see the metaphorical light at the end of the tunnel (SUMMER). So many fun things & events (& blog posts!) to look forward to!
The inspiration for this post came from a photo I recently saw on Instagram of the stunning Olivia Culpo in these skinny silver high-waisted pants. Coincidently, I bought a pair of silver pants back in December for a holiday party (you can find my exact pair from H&M here), wore them once, and then thought “when the heck will I ever wear these again? They’re just so festive, can I pull them off outside of the holiday season?” So when I saw Olivia rocking silver pants with a simple pewter-colored tank and sneakers, I thought maybe I could find some pieces in my closet to create a similar look. Here’s what I came up with:
Silver pants are definitely tricky to match. Pairing silver with black is the easiest and safest option, but I wanted to challenge myself to find colorful pieces in my wardrobe that paired nicely with silver as well. I feel like I resemble a modern Zenon (Girl of the 21st Century) in this first outfit where I paired the pants with this galactic-printed tee from Romwe (which I made a little more trendy by DIY-ing a front cut-out) and my favorite baby-pink Nike Air Force 1 Mids. I also experimented with this sexy dusty pink sheer bodysuit from Fashion Nova. Silver looks really fun and fresh paired with hues of pink – it’s unexpected, youthful and creates a springtime vibe. To offset all the color, toss on black leather or bomber jacket with silver details, and maybe some simple silver jewelry. I could definitely see myself rocking one of these options to a concert or a social event. Maybe one day I’ll even work up the courage to wear these pants to work!
Which top do you think works better with these pants? What would you pair with silver pants? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Happy Spring!
